Morning Routine: Starting the Day Right

The day begins with an early morning wake-up call (Rouser), designed to energize students and encourage a mindful start. The morning routine includes physical exercise to enhance fitness and alertness, followed by bathing and freshening up to maintain hygiene. Students then engage in self-study, allowing them to focus and reinforce their learning in a quiet environment. This is followed by Hawan or Sandhya (morning prayers), which help instill spiritual values and a sense of peace. The routine starts at 4:20 AM during summer and 5:00 AM in winter, aligning with seasonal needs to ensure a productive and balanced beginning to each day.

Breakfast & School Preparation

After completing their morning routine, students have a nutritious breakfast to fuel their day. They then prepare for school by packing their bags and doing a final revision of their lessons. The departure to school is organized efficiently to ensure students arrive on time. School hours are from 7:30 AM to 12:45 PM during the summer and from 8:20 AM to 12:50 PM in the winter, accommodating seasonal changes for students’ comfort and well-being.

Academic Learning & Midday Break

Throughout the school hours, students actively engage in academic learning across a range of subjects, taking part in classroom discussions, hands-on projects, and regular assessments. After school, they return to campus for lunch and a short rest period, giving them time to recharge both mentally and physically before the afternoon study session. Lunch is served shortly after school ends, with slight seasonal adjustments—at 12:45 PM during summer and 12:50 PM in winter.

Afternoon Self-Study & Subject Reinforcement

After lunch, students transition into a quiet and focused self-study session. This time is dedicated to revising lessons learned during the day, seeking guidance from faculty to resolve any doubts, and working on assignments or projects. The self-study period is structured to foster academic discipline and independence, running from 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM in summer and ending slightly earlier at 4:00 PM in winter.

Evening Activities & Fitness

Physical well-being is an integral part of life at Dev Gurukul. Every evening, students participate in outdoor games and exercises that encourage fitness, teamwork, and a healthy lifestyle. This is followed by Sandhya Hawan, a spiritual session that brings calm and mindfulness after a productive day. Evening exercise begins at 4:30 PM in the summer and 4:00 PM in the winter, while Sandhya Hawan is conducted at 6:45 PM in summer and 5:30 PM in winter.

Night Routine: Wind Down & Reflection

As evening sets in, students ease into a calming night routine that supports rest and reflection. They attend an evening study session, allowing time to review the day’s lessons and complete any remaining tasks. This is followed by bathing and personal hygiene to promote relaxation. Dinner is served at 7:30 PM in the summer and 6:15 PM in the winter, accompanied by light, informal interaction among peers to unwind before the final self-study session.

Lights Out & Rest

To ensure students get ample rest and wake up refreshed, a disciplined lights-out policy is followed. This final part of the day encourages a peaceful night’s sleep, with lights out scheduled at 9:15 PM during the summer and 9:30 PM in the winter. The structured routine promotes a healthy balance between study, physical activity, spiritual growth, and relaxation, creating a holistic environment for learning and development.
